As an Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) Provider, MRAEL can assist the Aged Care sector to prepare for the strong forecast growth in the industry by working with employers to properly skill their existing and new staff to meet the future labour demands of the industry with apprenticeships and traineeships.

Jodi Hughes, Service Manager (Aged Care) from Excelcare in Emu Park, Queensland, represents one of the Aged Care providers setting up their workforce for success.

“We’ve encouraged a large number of our employees to undertake the Certificate III in Individual Support. With the right qualifications and training, we know that our staff are in a better place for future demands in the Aged Care industry.”

MRAEL CEO, Christine Zechowski says that MRAEL can assist employers in finding relevant apprenticeship and traineeship pathways that suit their businesses and will contribute to the skills development of their current workers.
“Having a good understanding of the career pathways available that are suited to the Aged Care industry, we can assist employers to identify opportunities where apprenticeships and traineeships can add value to their operations and contribute to their workforce development planning. There will be demand for people with aged care related qualifications over the next 4-5 years and MRAEL can help employers prepare by identifying opportunities to train candidates with the skills they need to excel in an Aged Care career.”

“There has certainly been a boom in people from interstate retiring and settling in Queensland over the recent years. This growth has made a positive impact on the Aged Care workforce and is forecast to increase apprenticeship and traineeship commencements in this industry over the next few years.”
