Casual employment is not a means to an end, but the start to a career

Labour hire is a way forward to your next career if you are committed to making it work for you.

It’s time to dismiss a few myths that have circled stating that labour hire employees don’t get paid for sick leave and holidays. This is not the case, as this is the 25% casual loading you are paid.

I have also told labour hire employees that they should bank this 25% as this is paid up front, unlike permanent employees. If you think about it, labour hire employees have this advantage over permanent employees.

If you are offered one or two day’s work, take it. This is often a way for a prospective future employer to gauge your working capabilities and impression of the work on offer. Too many people think that this is a waste of time, however it keeps you employed and in front of employers and your labour hire recruitment team. This team can keep you in work.

If you keep saying no to work, you will likely drop from being first on the list as these roles need to be filled. If you keep saying yes you are more likely to be sustainably employed.
