CTC success stories

Congratulations Gabby

CTC Training would like to congratulate Gabby on the successful completion of her Certificate II in Business that she undertook as a School Based Trainee at her parents’ business in Rockhampton.

Gabby is interested in the arts, and her short term dream job is to work as a receptionist at an art gallery. After a “gap year”, Gabby is considering studying a Bachelor of Fine Art in order to pursue a longer term goal in the art world.

“Gabby made a huge effort in the last month to complete her traineeship early in order to concentrate on her year 12 studies so that she can achieve good grades and receive her Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). Well done Gabby!”

Plumber completes his training

A fourth year plumber, who only needed to complete the final step of his training, faced a run of bad luck with health and lack of consistent employment in the plumbing industry. He faced no accommodation when his parents relocated after cyclone Marcia yet he had to stay in the area to maintain his casual employment.

CTC were able to place him with a large employer. Everything for the plumber then aligned. He found the right amount of work to complete his trade and now has stable accommodation. He has a perfect opportunity to move with the large employer as they have plumbing contracts all over Australia. He is able to complete his trade with just the one placement in our area.

Apprentice overcomes knee injury and is hired locally

A local plumber needed a third or fourth year apprentice to complete local works from Gladstone to Yeppoon.

CTC had a registered second year apprentice plumber who had undergone a knee reconstruction. CTC knew of the apprentice’s commitment to work and overall skill. CTC successfully placed him with the plumber who was more than happy to hire him. The apprentice started with simple drainage jobs and will now successfully complete his apprenticeship after a potentially career changing operation.
