CTC Rocky River Run Prize Money
CTC Rocky River Run reveals largest prize money in regional Australia.
The CTC Rocky River Run has revealed that it will be awarding the winner of the half marathon with the largest prize
money ever seen in regional Australia.
Compared to last year’s event, the prize money for the half marathon this year has jumped by 700% to $2,100. The
prize money for the 10km race has also increased significantly since last year – the winner will receive $1,000 after
they cross the finish line.
CTC General Manager, Darryl Lapworth says the total prize pool has increased to over $10,000 this year, more than
double compared to previous years.
“We’ve received such an overwhelming response from sponsors for the CTC Rocky River Run. The increase in prize
money can be attributed to these generous local businesses sponsoring this run,” said Mr Lapworth.
“It’s really great to see the support from the local community. This event focuses on giving back to the community so
businesses will truly get back what they put in,” continued Mr Lapworth.
“With the increased prize money on offer, we expect to see a high number of new entrants from around Australia
this year, giving a boost to the local economy,” said Mr Lapworth.
This is the ninth year that the community will be coming together for Rockhampton’s favourite family event, the CTC
Rocky River Run.
CTC, the organisers of the event this year, are strong local advocates for community health and supporting young
people who are doing it tough, helping them through their issues and getting them ready to embrace a positive adult
life. CTC’s main business is creating jobs, helping job seekers with career choices and making labour hire,
apprenticeships and traineeships simple for employers.
Funds raised for the charity event are directed towards youth issues including homelessness, mental health and the
prevention of youth suicide.
